Review: Fabindia Tea Tree Skin Toner

I really really like this toner. Here’s why:

  1. The packaging – Look at it. Pretty and functional. I love that I can tell when how much I’ve got left. I love that it comes with a nozzle. I love that the plastic bottle is very easy to travel with.
  2. The price – At Rs. 240, it’s one of the most affordable toners available.
  3. It is alcohol-free and non drying. It contains neem extract, turmeric, salicylic acid and of course tea tree oil – all known to be great for acne prone skin. But I think it will suit all skin types.

Review: L’Oréal Professionnel Instant Clear Anti Dandruff Shampoo

Hi everyone! I want to apologize for not posting for so long. First I was really busy, then I was facing technical issues with my site, blah-di-blah, you don’t want to hear about that. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to check for new posts, to everyone who asked me why I wasn’t writing, to everyone who liked my Facebook page, commented, emailed me. It means a lot, and it didn’t go unnoticed. I’m going to get on to answering them, and I’m going to try to post at least once a week.

Dandruff has been a huge issue for me since as long as I can remember. A friend of mine recommended L’Oréal, and I was surprised to see that the regular ranges don’t really have an anti-dandruff option. I have used the Expert Liss Unlimited shampoo from the Professionnel range, and really liked it, so I had high hopes for this one too.

Maybelline Velvet Matte: MAT 04

MAT 04

I was really excited when the Velvet Matte Lip Colours were launched in India. I love the Lip Polishes by Maybelline & thought these would be similar Matte versions since the packaging is so similar, but that’s not the case. They are available in 8 shades ranging from pink to orange to red. The texture is creamy and similar to the Lip Polishes. And like the Lip Polishes, they don’t really settle into a super Matte finish. If you are looking for lipsticks which really have the ‘Velvet Matte’ finish, check out the Lip Gradation lip colours recently launched.

Maybelline Lip Gradation // Color Blur

Top – Bottom: Fuchsia 1, Coral 1, Pink 1

Hello everyone!

Let’s be honest. What really drew me to these was the colourful crayon-y packaging. I was never very artistic in school. I didn’t even like crayons; I preferred colour pencils. So why I’m drawn to lipsticks that look like twist up crayons, I’ll never figure out.

NEW: Maybelline Fit Me in India! (First Impressions)

dsc_2187.jpgAbout a month ago, a friend’s family was coming to India from the US & I was asked what I wanted. As a kid, were you ever taken to a candy store and asked what you wanted? Where would you start?? But I’m not a kid anymore, so I had to be modest & say I didn’t want anything. Even though I had a list. A rather long, precise & embarrassingly expensive one. Right at the top of that list was the Maybelline Fit Me concealer – because it wouldn’t have a huge OTT price tag, would be easily available, I’d heard great things about it, & though available in India, it was ridiculously priced on Amazon etc (Rs. 1000+). But I hesitated because I didn’t want to end up with the wrong shade. And also the modest thing, obviously. Flash forward to a month later – Maybelline introduces the Fit Me range in India as my Christmas gift 😀

The range introduced consists of: The Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation (the Fit Me range in the US has so many different foundations. But if I were there, this would be the one I’d pick.) – 6 shades, Fit Me concealer – 3 shades, Fit Me Compact – 4 shades, Fit Me Blushes – 3 shades. (The number of shades are according to what the ever clueless SAs at Maybelline counters informed me. So if you don’t find your shade, I’d wait for Maybelline to formally announce the number of shades rather than trying to make do with something not quite right. I’ve had enough experiences with clueless SAs ensuring me that products didn’t exist or had been discontinued when I knew for a fact that they probably just didn’t have them in stock.)

2015 Favourites

2015 is almost over. How? How??? I think as you grow older, life starts speeding up. I’m sure about it. Almost.

dsc_2157.jpgI’ve tried to pick out some of my favourites this year. Which I used consistently for more than just a month or so. Turns out, there are quite a few ~

The Body Shop Bath Lily: I once read Essie Button say that this is the best loofah she’s ever come across. I haven’t tried a ton of loofahs, but I don’t think I will be either. Ever since I started using this, I can’t stop. It’s not scratchy, but it exfoliates well. Softly. Effectively. Must try.

Engage Deo Spray – Tease: When I saw the ad, I thought these would smell…spicy. Too strong. Not my type. I was wrong. Some do, but this one doesn’t. It’s quite long lasting too. I’ve got compliments for this, so I had to include it here.

L’Oréal HydraFresh Night Mask In Jelly (reviewed here): This stuff is incredible. It’s perfect for combination skin.
